Garden Tower Lucian SanguineusLucian's rival glowered as the bolt pistol's shot narrowly missed him, charging up the power to counter-attack. Screaming hellfury, he threw his arms forward at the scout, warp lightning erupting around his arms... The lightning suddenly cuts out as a red glow appears around the psyker. Glowing red fire erupts out of his mouth, eyes and nose and he screams in pain and shock, before it fades a moment later. Smoke rises from his body and he collapses to one knee, breathing heavily. "Why...why would the Dark Gods punish me?" he seethes, looking up at Lucian with blood-shot eyes. He turns and starts running towards the door, although he cannot get anywhere close before Lucian acts. Lucian Sanguineus Garden Tower, Second Floor
Cursing his inability to get his shot right, Lucian braced for the impact of the warp lightning, but was pleasantly surprised when the psyker's powers turned against their user, and forced him to his knees. He laughed coldly at his nemesis' plight. "Running now, are we?" he drawled as the man turned on his heels and ran off. "Don't you have anything more to say? No more words to try and convince me? No? Pity." Lucian aimed his pistol for his next shot, right at the back of the psyker's head. "Just so you know, you pathetic coward," he added, "you shouldn't turn your back on an enemy, and definitely not on one with a pistol in his hand." The drivers swallowed nervously. The surviving General stared in horror at his fallen comrade, unable to move or react in shock at the violent reaction of the Astartes. With a distinct rumble, the chimera kicked to life in reaction to the Techmarine's orders. Brother Theodoros Ikarion - APCs
With the General's brains sliding down the interior of the transport bay, Theodoros turned to the console for the Imperial Guards' local comm network. He activated it, and started setting up a communications link to the pilots of the two Chimaeras. Tech-Use versus Intelligence (54): 69, failure by 15 The machine shuddered under his feet as he punched in the proper key sequence. To his mild surprise an error message popped up on his first try. Snarling at the console he started over, realising he'd missed a crucial step in the comm uplink process. Rerolling (Solo Mode ability): 19, success by 35 The second try went smoothly, and he spoke into the comm system. Tactics (Armoured) versus Intelligence (54): 34, success by 20 Command versus Fellowship (41/2=20): 75, failure by 55
"This is Techmarine Theodoros Ikarion of the Scions of Mars. I have taken command of these Chimaeras for this conflict. Communicate to me the names of the vessels so I can direct you. Move your vessels to the following coordinates in the field..." He recited the coordinates from the tactical overview, telling them where exactly he wanted them. "...with your front facing the heretical forces. For the glory of the Emperor. Over." He glanced out of the bay doors to see if the other Chimaera started moving as well. These are the positions Theodoros is ordering the Chimaeras to take:

Total Victory Progress: 2 (Battle is going in your favour.) Primary Objectives: - Survive the heretic attack.
Secondary Objectives: - Hold the Line - Prevent the heretics from overwhelming and slaughtering the 17th Promethean Guard Regiment.
- Defend our Fallen Brethren - Do not allow the comatose Astartes to fall into enemy hands or be killed.
Tertiary Objectives:- Deny Our Enemy's Pillage - Prevent the heretics from gaining any useful loot or salvage from the wreckage of the Thunderhawks.
Lucian SanguineusThe Sorceror barely made it a few meters before Lucian's well-aimed bolt round slammed into the back of his still-steaming head, turning the heretic into fine mist and a spray of bits from the neck up. The gory execution sent his body tumbling to the ground and silence reigned over the room. There's no sign or sound of anyone coming to intervene or investigate, and it seems that the fight has gone unnoticed with the chaos of the battle erupting outside. Hydroponics Lab "Garden Tower", Second Level:While this room was no doubt once used for some kind of gardening task, any equipment has been removed or scattered to the edges of the room. In the corner, a pile of bodies is stacked, though they seem too fresh to contribute much to the foul smell which permeates the room. Traces of red energy spark and flicker on the floor, as if some unsettling remnant of the dark magics remains. There is no sign of any weapons or useful equipment in this room, at the north end of the room he can see a door marked 'stairs' which presumably heads upwards. Witch Slayer:Against the darkest and most fearsome powers the Imperium knows, Lucian stood tall as an exemplary Angel of Death, resisting the corrupting influence of the warp and slaying the Sorceror with extreme prejudice and nary a visible mark, though some small part of the taint of this place will always remain with him... +1 Renown Earned, +1 Corruption GainedIman EnnulusThe Apothecary's call to arms is clearly signaled out, and to all Astartes in the area, the words come through loud and clear, but it seems that his comm system has not been synchronized with that of the Promethean Guard, as there are no replies to his request. He may need the assistance of another Astartes or he may need to go and find Guardsmen willing to help defend the shrine. As he approaches the Solidity of Faith, it is clear that the fires here have grown and are more intense than at the other crash site. Although his own armour will comfortably resist the flames for some time while its environmental seal is intact, the bodies of those within will likely be consumed by growing heat if there is no intervention, which would inevitably destroy the geneseed's integrity. Although only a few members of the craft were Scions of Mars, retrieving the geneseed of fellow chapters would be a heroic - if difficult - act. As he draws closer, he can see that five Astartes have been lined up carefully at a safe distance from the craft's starboard hatch, clearly there for recovery, but it will take some time to move them alone. Actions: Iman Ennulus has a full action available, although moving the remaining survivors will probably take all his actions for the rest of the current combat. Theodoros IkarionThere is a moment's hesitation as Theodoros' command echoes through the Chimera's comm systems. Rumbling to life, the two transports pivot and turn towards the hastily built defenses, rolling forward with aggressive intent. While the pilots are too cautious to fire the hull-mounted heavy bolter into the crowd where the Astartes are fighting, the turret gunner's superior angle allows him to rake the heretic soldiers at the rear of the formation with rapid pulses of the powerful, flesh-searing multilaser. The moustached major who had begged Theodoros' help saluted and bowed to the Techmarine. "The men are indebted to you, my Lord. We will hold the line at all costs, I swear it in the Emperor's name." Signaling a nearby soldier with a vox pack, he tuned in to the Guard's comm frequency and began barking orders, directing the frontline units to use the Chimeras as a shield and to man the lasgun pods on the sides of the hull, using the vehicles as a sort of mobile bunker, forgetting for the time being to pay attention to Theodoros' presence. Actions: Theodoros has a full action available. Promethean Vox Network: The Chimeras will move and act on his turn and Theodoros is now capable of remotely voxing into their comms systems and commanding them from a distance if required, though this will take a Half action using the Command skill. Now that he is privvy to the Promethean Guard's vox frequencies, he can also attempt to patch into their vox network remotely, although this will require a Very Hard (-30) Tech Use check without a physical link. Requisitioned Chimeras: Theodoros' successful requisitioning of the Generals' Chimeras provides a much needed boost to the Imperial line in the form of heavy cover and firepower, increasing the Magnitude damage dealt by the Promethean Guard to the heretics and boosting their morale, though with a better command ability, he may have been able to get more out of the Chimeras himself and inspire the Guard further. +1 Victory Progress EarnedCallisto TenkoLady Callisto's blades dance through the heretic guardsmen effortlessly, leaving countless bodies in her wake. The cultists around her are near the breaking point, having suffered heavy casualties, but they are driven onwards still by the encouraging losses that the loyalist guard have taken. The battle is not yet over. Counter-attack: The cultists' last action was to attack Callisto, which did no damage but triggers her counter-attack action. Actions: Callisto Tenko has a full action available. Magnitude Damage: Callisto's combat actions combined with Zacharius' and Xavier's have done enough damage to the heretics' magnitude to turn the battle one step closer to victory. +1 Victory Progress EarnedOtto GottfriedWith grace and power, Otto Gottfried's well-struck blow sent the heretical champion tumbling to the floor. Although the powerfully muscled man was certainly dangerous, he was no Astartes and the result of the battle was sealed. Otto Gottfried's chainsword descended upon the foe, and though he tried to roll back out of the way, he only succeeded in getting his leg in the way of the blow. Otto Gottfried's strength was more than enough to tear through the leg and rip into his midsection in the process, spraying blood and eviscerated organs as the adamantine-tipped teeth of the chainsword did their holy work. Actions: Otto Gottfried has a full action available. Flawless Victory: By defeating a chaos champion, the inspirational leader of the heretic forces, without any injury suffered, Otto Gottfried has proven the superiority and righteousness of the Astartes cause, inspiring the loyal and terrifying the traitor. +1 Victory Progress EarnedRamón Amadeo PugilistoRamon arrives on the battlefield with a thunderous crash, his jump pack carrying him through the air to land amongst the heretics with bloody vengeance. Against this aerial assault, there can be no defense, and many foes fall to his blades, but there are still many more to kill, swarming over the walls of the battlefield. A stray bullet from a heavy stubber glances off Ramón's pauldron, but few heretics have the courage to even raise a sword or gun towards this avatar of destruction. Actions: Ramón has a full action available. On the Battlefield (NPC Actions):At the defensive lines, an enormous melee has broken out between the surviving Guardsmen of the 17th Regiment and the heretics and traitors who have charged the line. Many of their number have been cut down by Lady Callisto, Brother Zacharius and Brother Xavier, but many more still remain as the reinforcements continue to pour in. In the buildings overlooking the T-junction of the road, the heavy stubber teams continue to deliver their withering firepower to the battlefield. Suppressing Fire: The heavy stubbers have been doing their work for awhile and doing it well. They've caused considerable casualties amongst the defending loyalists without being shut down. -1 Victory Progress LostTemp NPC'dOOC: As I cannot get in contact with nakkel or StevetheERB, I will be temporarily NPCing their characters until contact can be re-established and they determine how they feel about continuing.

Even in the midst of the chaos amongst the craven heretics, Ramon could notice that any progress would be impeded by supporting heavy fire further back. Despite his reluctance to leave behind his allies, Ramon prepared another jump to destroy one of the stubbers to grant to deny the heretics a tactical advantage.
His jump pack roared into action once more...

... unfortunately, Ramon grossly misjudged the distance and force required. Instead of slamming to a stubber team in a building, he merely was about to land into a crowd of heretics below. Revving his chainswords, he took satisfaction that he could at least kill some heretics as he landed...

Brother Theodoros Ikarion - APC Auster
Theodoros moved up and swapped with the gunner on the main Multilaser as the Chimaera started rolling behind the lines to take position on the left flank of the access street. The Auster moved at a steady pace while the Boreas met with the defensive barricade to take up position on the right. As he settled behind the controls, which were on the small side for his heavy gauntlets, he sent out a short message. "Boreas, status report."
He gripped the controls of the Multilaser and more or less aimed into the throng of heretics pressing against the lines, and fired.
Firing into the mob (+30) on full auto (+20) versus Ballistics Skill (45), compensating for small equipment (-10) with fine motor control (+5): 88, success by 2 Damage: 2d10+10 = 23
The shots slammed into the mob, flooring several heretics and sending others tumbling to the ground to take cover.

Iman Ennulus: Crash Site B
Imman Ennulus' role is not to coordinate the Emperor's forces or to ensure the follow through of his requests; his role was much more specialized, and required singular mind of purpose. Ennulus calculates that the five soldiers outside the ship should survive until he can complete his holy duty. The fire was an obstacle, but its threat was primarily for those weak of flesh, not strong of steel. His faith, and the blessing of the Adeptus Mechanicus would see him through this task.

Xavier Judicious Delibero
The Librarian stood defiant at the center of the maelstrom as cultist and guard waged a bloody battle around him. The smell of foul scorched flesh wafted across the battlefield as before Xavier, two dozen bodies lay smoking and charred in the sunlight. The pressure sensitive trigger on his hand flamer suddenly clicked inwards as the small prometheum tank emptied itself; a short pop later and it was flicked free of the weapon like a discarded shell casing, ready for replacement. The faint remnants of partially manifested energy crackled around Xavier, and the faint stench of the warp now filled the air, a sign of his recently failed manifestation and a temptation for further channeling.
Purge the Unclean: Xavier's Hand Flamer has dealt a tremendous amount of damage to the attacking forces and contributed to the victory progress of the battle (already accounted for in Callisto Tenko's vignette.)
Warp Energies: Unusually, remnants of warp energy still float and partially manifest near Xavier following his earlier attempt to psychically inspire the troops. Xavier may attempt a Psyniscience roll in order to sense more about these energies as a Free Action.
Actions: Xavier has a Full action remaining.
Other Notes (inc. NPCs)
Jefford, sadly, does not have the time to do any RPing, and so Otto Gottfried shall be nobly NPC'd until such further time as he can be retired or Jefford becomes able to return to the battlefield (or both). May the Emperor grant peace to the fallen!

Palatine Callisto Tenko - Amidst Heretic Horde
Heretics still swarmed around Lady Tenko, just begging to be slain in the Emperors name. Though she had a specific objective laid out before her, protect the Inquisitor, she wagered that her fellow sisters could protect him whist she slew as many heretics as humanly possible.

NPC Actions:The Guard and Heretics continue to do battle across the line, but it seems the guard are now getting the best of their traitorous companions, fighting them off with knife, pistol and bayonet. Heavy Stubber fire continues to pound the lines, but now both chaos militia and loyal guardsmen are caught in the crossfire, heedless of the risks. One of the gun nests, however, notices Ramón's jump in and takes exception... Zacharius and Otto Gottfried continue their battle against the heretics with slow but predictable results. (No change in Victory Progress from NPC actions this round.) Lucian Sanguineus (Ilya) Hydroponics Lab "Garden Tower"
The door clicks open and Lucian finds an empty, quiet stairwell ahead. There's neither sight nor sound of anyone in here, and daylight streams through a door the next floor up. The air feels a little easier here and he realises after stepping out of the ritual chamber that his lungs had found it somewhat harder to breath inside, although nothing that an Astartes' enhanced lungs couldn't overcome. The stairwell here appears to connect to two floors above this one, but does not go all the way to the top of the tower. Actions: Lucian has a full action to take. Theodoros Ikarion (Cyaziris) Promethean Guard APC 'Auster'
As Theodoros' Chimera rolls forwards, the companion Chimera also opens fire, delivering a series of lancing shots across the ranks of the heretics... With practiced, efficient bursts, the Chimera Boreas' multilaser combines with the fire from the Auster to inflict considerable casualties amongst the traitors' ranks. Moments later, the Boreas' vox responds in time to Theodoros' command: "Corporal Theophilus reporting, my lord. The machine spirit is fully operational, hull integrity is intact. We are moving into the designated position without resistance, my lord. We will continue lending fire support to the ground troops until your orders." There is no word from the Imperial General, and Theodoros is left unsure exactly what the man is up to at this time. Before he can consider it, however, a vox channel opens itself to him, identifying itself on the Astartes frequency established for this meeting. The unmistakable voice of the Lexicanium Xavier Judicious Delibero echoes through, short and to the point: "Requesting Chimaera focus fire on enemy stubber nest dead ahead". Actions: Theodoros Ikarion has a full action remaining. Iman Ennulus (DigitalSocrates) Crashed Thunderhawk 'Solidity of Faith'
The moment Iman Ennulus steps into the hold of the ship, the sensors of his armour go wild, displaying an intense rise in heat and signs of a radiation leak - likely from the Thunderhawk's power core. The aft of the Thunderhawk is under more immediate threat. For the moment his physical resilience and the NBC shielding of the Power Armour should easily resist any harm the fire is likely to cause, he can sense his Mucranoid gland begin sympathetically releasing heat-resistant compounds in his sweat. Actions: Iman Ennulus has a full action remaining. The Martyred: Of the Thunderhawk Solidity of Faith's 30 passengers and crew, 25 lay scattered and dead amongst the holds and cockpit of the gunship. It appears the majority of this craft were members of the Lightning Warriors chapter, although a number of other chapters are represented and it is difficult amongst the dimming and flashing lights and the warm glow of electrical fires to identify what Marine hails from which chapter. Iman Ennulus must pass an Easy (+30) Awareness test to correctly identify the Chapters of harvested Marines based on their armour's markings and iconography. It will take a considerable amount of time to harvest all those aboard the vessel, longer than the battle will last - if he wishes to do this, it will take an Ordinary Medicae Test (+10) to conduct the surgery in a timely fashion - it is fully possible due to the rapid spread of damage and fire in the ship that he will be unable to save all the geneseed in time due to the risks of operating in this area. Ramón Amadeo Pugilista (HOURAISAN) Deliverance Street, Amidst the Heretics
The heavy stubber nest closest to Brother Ramón quickly turns its gun down to the assault marine, caught by surprise when his jump packs suddenly brought him close. Desperate to defend themselves, they open up a volley... Ramón is exposed, and though the wild spray of stubber fire fells several heretics and deters the rest from attacking, a rain of bullets pepper his armour... The large calibre stubber rounds pierce Ramón's armour in several places, breaching the environmental seal and threatening the soft flesh underneath... Actions: Ramón has a full action to use and is not debilitated by the stubber attacks in any way. Xavier Judicious Delibero (StevetheERB) Agatha Parade Ground - Promethean Defenses
Xavier's fine-tuned sense of the paranormal quickly picks up on the source of the foul warp stench, which is beginning to permeate the entire area. It seems to emanate not from any one point or person, but from the very concrete floor; it seeps out of the earth beneath you. At this point, it becomes clear to Xavier that he is the only one who can sense it, as no Guardsmen and no other Imperials, nor even the heretics they fight against, seem to react to it or notice it. This can only be a dark sign of some kind of powerful, dangerous warp magic being conducted, likely by a rogue psyker or sorceror responsible for this attack. It is unclear exactly what the nature of the ritual is, but it is darkly obvious that as men die in battle, the sense of dread that accompanies the warp energies slowly increases. Identifying more about this power would require Forbidden Lore (Daemonology) as it is out of a Librarian's normal realm of expertise. Xavier does, however, easily patch in to the voxlink with Theodoros as he reloads, making the connection effortlessly. His Hand Flamer is once again ready to fire, although the melee of the battle will now make it difficult to get a clear shot without harming fellow Imperial soldiers. Actions:Xavier has a full action to use. There is nothing special that can currently be done with the warp energies, but any shift or change will be monitored and updated. Callisto Tenko (EikaForge) Agatha Parade Ground - Amidst the Heretics
Again, Callisto's blades flash and carve through several heretics, leaving only bodies in her wake. While they first came to her eager to fight, now the treacherous dogs begin to turn and flee before the Palatine's expert swordsmanship, attempting to escape their seemingly inevitable death and broken in morale. The soldiers on Deliverance Street continue to fight onwards, but it seems the main bulk of the assault on the Promethean Guard is being turned back. With a little bit of a push and a bit of courage, the Guard could be rallied and the chaos militia routed - for now. The heretics are no longer trying to fight her, having seen too many companions fall, but there are still some remaining who fight the Guardsmen in the intense melee at the defensive line. She could either assist the Guardsmen there, pursue the fleeing heretics in an attempt to break them, or determine a new tactic or path which might turn the tide of this battle. Actions:Callisto Tenko has a full action to use.

He was nearing the right side of the building, he thought, and all he would probably have to do now, was finding his way up to whichever floor housed the balcony he intended to use as sniper's nest. Clearing one flight of stairs, he decided to peek into the doorway the light is coming from, just to be certain nothing or no one was there, before going up to the top of the staircase.

Lucian Sanguineus (Ilya) Hydroponics Lab "Garden Tower"
The area beyond the open doorway is a wide open work area. Windows along the north and west side of the building are collecting a considerable amount of sunlight, pouring into this massive room. It looks like some kind of labour around potted plants was occurring here and the air is sweet with the scent of spices and flowers, but such mundane activities are of little interest. Lucian does not spy the balcony along the northern windows, nor is there any sign of heretics or survivors here. Actions: Lucian has half an action remaining.
