Xavier had been biding his time waiting for the traitors to get closer, a hatred of traitors threatening to push him to do something rash. But he manages to push it down, keeping his focus tight and waiting, waiting until just the right moment. As the traitors reached the barricade he stood and leveled his hand flamer into the mass of them, depressing the trigger as he swept it across their lines, careful to aim it away from the loyal (and to him foolhardy) who had jumped across to engage the enemy in front of the barricade.

Brothr-Adept Theodoros Ikarion - APCs at northwest corner
Theodoros scowled under his helmet. He paced past the kneeling man wordlessly, and thudded his fist onto the hull twice, causing a dull reverberating echo to ring through the APC. The dull red of his armour stood out like dried blood against the grays of the rubble around the ship, and his fist left a small red scuffmark on the rear door. He scowled, and turned his vox-synth up to its highest volume. "THIS IS BROTHER-ADEPT THEODOROS IKARION OF THE SCIONS OF MARS. IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR, OPEN THIS DOOR. I WILL NOT REPEAT MYSELF." His voice blared around the tank. He would not repeat himself. If the door didn't open, he'd open it himself. He raised his equipment to find a way to connect to the APC's machine spirit and have it release the locks if necessary. Imperial Defensive Lines Callisto Tenko, Otto Gottfried, Xavier Judicus Delibero, Zacharius
The firepower of Xavier and Zacharius slammed into the advancing heretic forces without warning, mowing down vast numbers of heretics without hesitation. Lady Callisto wove through the heretic ranks, her blades dancing in a deadly fashion and daring them to attack, whilst Otto Gottfried continued to face his opponent down...
The heavy stubber teams continued to fire upon the Imperial lines - but now they had a purpose, and their fire was increasingly focused upon the immediate threats to the assault - Xavier and Zacharius. Armour-piercing heavy stubber rounds rained down upon the two brothers manning the line, killing the occasional guardsman but mostly focused upon the Astartes support. While the team aiming at Xavier produced a series of notoriously inaccurate bursts, the team trained upon Zacharius had grown more than used to targeting the Dark Angel, and now their bullets rained down like thunder upon his position, chewing apart the barricade he manned and scoring no fewer than seven direct hits on the Devastator Marine.
The swarming traitors attack ferociously with bayonet, knife and sword, desperate to kill the foe, but their attacks are little threat to Xavier or Callisto's armour or skill. The leader of the heretical guard, however, is much more aggressive...

The heretic leader's massive chainsword swings down at Otto's chest as he attacks with reckless intent, though even such a mighty blow will not threaten an Astartes' armour or physique...
GM's Notes: To summarize this info dump per character: Zacharius: Dropped another 12 heretics with Heavy Bolter fire. 6 wounds taken from Heavy Stubber team, armour breached in several more places; no longer gaining bonus AP from cover due to the barricade's destruction thanks to the stubber fire. Xavier: Burned ~20 heretics with his hand flamer, but now the heretics have reached the lines and engaged in close combat. It will not be so easy to lay down such a devastating fire next time. Callisto Tenko: May take a "parry" action against the Horde in order to counter-attack, if she so wishes - this is a Reaction and comes in addition to all other actions. Otto Gottfried: May attempt to parry the Traitor Leader's attack. Failure will result in a breach of your suit's environmental seal due to armour damage, but you won't lose any wounds.

Imperial Shrine: Iman Ennulus, Ramón Amadeo Pugilisto
After what seems like an age, Iman and Ramon finish moving their fallen brothers and cousins to the Imperial Shrine, where they can be sheltered from the attacks. They are now welcome to take other actions, though it may take another turn to return to the Imperial Lines and join the fight.

The Chainsword whined as it struck with a furious, bloody ferocity. Without any motion or resistance to slow his blade and delivering the stroke with perfect form, Lucian's Chainsword's monomolecular edges cleave the cultist in half like a hot knife through butter, spraying gore, blood and chips of shattered bone in every direction. Neatly cut in two from shoulder to groin, the cultist's body halves collapse, spilling internal organs onto the floor along with a copious amount of slippery blood. GM's Note: The area around the cultist's body is awash with slippery gore this turn, anyone trying to move through the area must make a Challenging (+0) Agility test or slip and fall prone. The red warp energy trailing from the cultist vanishes instantly and sparks around the cult leader, causing him to howl in pain. A slight gash appears on his chest, marking him as wounded. Garden Tower, Second Floor Lucian SanguineusThe psyker laughs even as he is cut by the psychic feedback, and simply raises his hands into the air in some kind of dark prayer. The surviving seven cultists scream in sudden, unified agony before their bodies explode and liquefy into pools of blood, which rapidly coalesce and flow into the outstretched palms of the cult leader. His skin seems to throb and squirm, as if some dark mutation was taking hold of him, but he did not seem to notice or mind. "You have strength, Astartes, but no strength which can match the fervor of the Dark Gods. Your anger and rage is powerful, why not turn that dedication to the Blood God, and let your true self be free of orders and commands?" He holds his sword and glowing arm up in a defensive position, ready for an attack regardless.

Imperial Shrine Iman Ennulus
"Hmph."
Iman would have preferred the marine stay to help him evacuate the second ship, but he couldn't begrudge his comrade's fervor to excise heretics.
Iman went on his Vox. "I need a small team to hold sentinel at the Imperial Shrine. Priority: High."
He glanced at the burning remains of Solidarity of Faith. Under normal conditions, it would be irresponsible to abandon his charges without security. But the fire threatened many more genoseeds than the three men next to him.
"Emperor protect you," he told the three men, then headed towards the second ship with haste.

Now standing tall as to bolster the confidence of the guardsmen around him, Xavier swung his arm in a broad arc, his force sword leaping into it as the dipole maglocks activated and he began laying into foes around him. He extended his other hand, making a stabbing motion with it, the hand flamer slipping from his grasp but a more horrific flame leaping from his open hand to sear a line through the horde, a meter wide river of flame in the form of a drake, reaching to a distance of 24 meters before falling off.

Palatine Callisto Tenko - Amidst Heretic Horde
Heretics, filthy heretics everywhere she looked. One of the heretics dared to strike against her, a weak, pitiful excuse attack that she knocked away with her unyielding blade before she sliced into him. With a practiced easy she twisted her Blade of Admonition around to give the emperor's wrath to his fellows. And not far behind was her powersword.

The drivers swallowed nervously. The surviving General stared in horror at his fallen comrade, unable to move or react in shock at the violent reaction of the Astartes. With a distinct rumble, the chimera kicked to life in reaction to the Techmarine's orders. Xavier's sword effortlessly carved through heretics around him, but the devastation was nothing compared to the intense flames of the Salamander's fury, which carved a path through the cultists and left only charred ashes in its wake. The Librarian's mastery of flame had caused serious damage to the heretics' ability to fight. Otto's brutal attack was more than the Chaos foe could handle, and the champion was flung to the ground by a heavy blow from Otto's fist. He tried to roll back out of the way of the Chaplain's oncoming attack, but Otto's chainsword was too fast and it tore into his belly and leg, ripping and tearing through his organs and tearing apart every major blood vessel in the man's lower body. The heretic's wretched body screamed and thrashed in pain for a few seconds before falling still, a small sea of blood forming beneath them. The heretics around Otto wavered in fear, though a few still had the guts to attempt an attack. Callisto's own blades flash in a deadly dance of death as she carves her way through the heretics, laying low anyone who dares cross her path. Their numbers are growing thin now, and it looks as if they will soon be able to turn the tide back... Imperial Defensive Line Callisto Tenko, Otto Gottfried, Xavier Judicious Delibero, Zacharius, RamonThe heretics continue to pour onwards, but their numbers are vastly reduced. Still, a melee has broken out around the defensive line as traitor and loyal guardsman clash and chaos reigns. The heavy stubbers still continue to pepper the loyalist forces with bursts of fire, although they are unable to conduct the same kind of sweeping sprays of fire so long as their own men are heavily engaged, though they still represent a very dangerous threat to the loyalists. Cultists rampaging into the lines strike against all those they can reach. The cultists are fighting bitterly but they are almost at the breaking point - they have taken heavy casualties compared, though so too have your own men. Garden Tower Lucian SanguineusLucian's rival glowered as the bolt pistol's shot narrowly missed him, charging up the power to counter-attack. Screaming hellfury, he threw his arms forward at the scout, warp lightning erupting around his arms... The lightning suddenly cuts out as a red glow appears around the psyker. Glowing red fire erupts out of his mouth, eyes and nose and he screams in pain and shock, before it fades a moment later. Smoke rises from his body and he collapses to one knee, breathing heavily. "Why...why would the Dark Gods punish me?" he seethes, looking up at Lucian with blood-shot eyes. He turns and starts running towards the door, although he cannot get anywhere close before Lucian acts.
